Hi Graham
peaking of Sam J ... have you seen this totally marvelous site about Samuel Pepys, the diarist.
http://www.pepysdiary.com/

I adore this site - first up it takes a real classic of english lit - and then uses the web to give us an entry a day. Second, and this is the piece that does it for me every time, all the annotations embedded in the text are compiled by online scholars and enthsiasts who have something to add, either about the context of the entry, or, more often, about the peole, places, and incidents mentioned in the text.
I think it is such a great use of the web - and an inspiration to all of us.
so i guess the big question is what New Zealand classics could we put on line which could benefit from all this - starting with , say Katherine Mansfield short stories, Cook. or Banks journals, and a whole host of other stuff.
Your readers might like to suggest some more - then we might even build one!!
keep the faith .... p.
