JANET FRAME – from strength to strength

Janet Frame’s literary executor, Pamela Gordon, has been doing a fine job in keeping the late author’s works in print and in front of the literary world.
The two latest examples crossed my desk this week.

First up a new edition of Faces in the Water from Virago with an introduction by noted English novelist Hilary Mantel which provides an exquisitely perceptive analysis of this title.
Faces in the Water has been released this month by Virago in the UK and Canada.

Janet Frame is Virago's classic author of the month.

Then the US hardcover edition of the posthumous novel Towards Another Summer by Berkeley, California-based publisher Counterpoint. This carries the wonderful Alice Sebold quote on the cover front cover -
In this deeply personal novel of exile and loneliness, Janet Frame proves the master of nostalgia, beauty, and loss. Frame is, and will remain, divine.

Two welcome additions to the international Frame library.
