On the road in the US with Linda Olsson - Day 2

Ok, I might as well tell it straight away. My bag of assorted cables and chargers did not contain the one I need to connect my camera to my laptop (it did, however hold a charger to a camera I didn’t bring). Sorry. No pictures today either. Will try and buy a cable tomorrow. My escort (literary) has promised to take me to a store to buy one before we go to the event tomorrow.

Spent the morning spying for celebrities (didn’t spot any) during a long walk towards Santa Monica. Very quiet on an overcast Saturday morning. I guess it’s not the time for celebrities. Signed a few books at Borders in a shopping mall near by. One of the escorts taking me around last time said a book signed is a book sold. So I do my best. Watched the staff put stickers on the books and place them in a more visible spot.

The afternoon event was a talk and book signing at Vroman’s Bookstore in Pasadena. The store is one to dream of, with wonderful knowledgeable staff and plentiful stock. Only a dozen people or so turned up, but those who did were interested and alert and had all read my first book, some also the new one. A few further customers drifted into the space during my talk and sat down. I thought that was a good sign. But who knows, perhaps they were just tired…
I signed the books the audience bought, and then the store’s stock.

Talked about life with my escort on the way back. Hers was interesting.
A lonely dinner in my room. And another day of one’s life over.
