Alexander McCall Smith's Corduroy Mansions, which was published on the Daily Telegraph's webstie as an online serial, has won the Association of Online Publishers (AOP) Digital Publishing Awards Cross Media Project award.

Publisher Little, Brown was the only publisher on the list of award-winners, which included the Guardian's Comment is Free, Farmers Weekly online and FHM.com.
McCall Smith's novel was published daily in both print and audio instalments, read by actor Andrew Sachs. McCall Smith said: "I am delighted that the innovation of the Telegraph media group has been recognised in this way. We have had great fun creating the serial across all platforms and I am very much looking forward to returning to the story in the autumn."A second series of Corduroy Mansions will appear on the Telegraph website in September this year.

The first series will be published in hardback book form, under the Polygon imprint, on audiobook (Hachette Digital) in July 2009 and in paperback (Abacus) in May 2010 .
Sarah Shrubb, editorial director of Little, Brown's digital imprint said: "‘This has been a challenging and incredibly rewarding project, and we're absolutely delighted that Alexander McCall Smith's groundbreaking serial novel has won this award. Corduroy Mansions is a wonderful story and Andrew Sachs has given a brilliant and very funny performance for the audio edition."
