THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO

This stunning book caused a sensation when it was first published here early in 2008. Read my review from that time.

Subsequently parts two and three of the Millenium Trilogy have been published, The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest, and have enjoyed sales in NZ in excess of 60,000 copies with millions selling world-wide.

Last night I was privileged to attend the preview of the Swedish movie, (English subtitles), The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and I'm delighted to report that it is true to the book and that the casting and the acting were both absolutely outstanding. Lisbeth Salander, the girl referred to in the book titles looked exactly as I had imagined her. The movie of course cannot possibly convey all the detail and nuances of the story but as movie adaptations go it is a triumph and I predict that further spectacular book sales will follow the movie's nation-wide Boxing Day release.
