“So You Want to Run a Bookshop?”
A public seminar on how to run a bookshop is to be held by Booksellers New Zealand in Auckland, on Saturday 28 August 2010.

BooksellersNZ Membership Manager, Cherie Arnott said the association is approached regularly by people who are contemplating, “or even dreaming,” about opening a bookshop.
“This seminar and workshop is designed to give those interested practical advice on everything from renting the right premises, to obtaining and managing stock, to not being afraid to visit the curious world of children’s books”.

Three of experienced booksellers, John McIntyre of the Children’s Bookshop in Wellington and Doris Mousdale of Arcadia Bookshop, Auckland will present the seminar.   The session will cover choosing a location, costs and capital investment, rewards and the lure of a good book, also the commitment needed to turn a dream into a successful business.
