Seán Cullen makes Toronto Book Awards short list
The Star.com 16 September 2010

A writer far better known for his roles as actor and comedian is among five authors on the short list for the 2010 Toronto Book Awards.

Seán Cullen is nominated for his children’s novel, The Prince of Neither Here Nor There, published by Puffin Canada. The other four finalists, announced by Mayor David Miller Sept. 16, are nominated for adult novels:

• Cary Fagan for Valentine’s Fall (Cormorant Books).

• Lauren Kirshner for her debut Where We Have to Go (McClelland & Stewart).

• Mark Sinnett for The Carnivore (ECW Press).

• Dragan Todorovic for Diary of Interrupted Days (Random House Canada).

Established by city council in 1974, the awards honour “authors of books of literary or artistic merit that are evocative of Toronto.” Each finalist will receive $1,000 and the winning author receives an additional $10,000.

The winner will be announced at an evening gala Oct. 14 at the Toronto Reference Library, hosted by CBC Radio’s Matt Galloway.
