WELLINGTON - WRITERS ON MONDAYS

Monday 20 September: SHORT/SHARP/SCRIPT (1)

12.15-1.15 pm, Circa Theatre

How much drama can you cram into 60 minutes? Find out as actors from the New Zealand College of Performing Arts perform rehearsed readings of work produced by MA (Script) students at the IIML. This week David Geary introduces snappy dialogue from Eli Kent, Cruzanne Macalister, Hinekaa Mako, Sam Smith and Sonya Stewart.

Thursday 23 September: BUDDHIST RAIN
7-8.30 pm, Soundings Theatre, Te Papa

Join us for this special concert to launch Buddhist Rain, a new CD setting Bill Manhire’s poems to jazz. Pianist Norman Meehan, saxophonist Colin Hemmingsen and vocalist Hannah Griffin provide the melodies, and Bill Manhire reads the lyrics. Wine, books and CDs will be available outside Soundings from 6 pm, so arrive early to secure your seat for this free event – it’s sure to be popular.

For more information about the concert and the album, see

Writers on Mondays is presented by the International Institute of Modern Letters and The Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, with additional support from Circa Theatre.
Events are open to the public and free of charge.
