Tuesday Poems from all over this week

Welsh poet Dylan Thomas is the hub poem on Tuesday Poem this week courtesy of this week's editor Andrew M Bell. A Christchurch poet, Bell writes that he chose Thomas' The Hand that Signed the Paper because it has stayed with him since a teacher brought it to his attention aged 15.
He explains in his commentary why the poem resonates now.

Poems in the live blog roll on Tuesday Poem range from a translation of a Russian poet by Tim Jones to an Indian poet posted by Janis Freegard to a surreal poem about madness in a teacup by a British poet posted by Katherine Mansfield biographer Kathleen Jones. Some kiwi poets in there too including the irrepressible Geoff Cochrane.

Just pour yourself a cuppa and come along for a read.

Footnote:
These are a day late, came in while The Bookman was having catarcats removed! Miracle surgery.
Back on time next week.

Nothing about the Tuesday Poem BB- but may I concur re the 'miracle of cataract surgery'?

I could afford (with much family help) to have only one eye done - my dominant left eye. And, late that evening, when I removed the shield, I discovered I could now see better than I had EVER seen in my life!
Without contact lenses or glasses!!

This very high myope (the opthalmological surgeon had to import the intraocular lens from Aus because they didnt have any in ANZ) now blesses the day (just over a year ago) this op took place.

Unless you've been there, you cannot understand what a difference it makes to life in general - that you wake up & see the world...

Couldn't agree more Keri. This old boy now has teenage eyes! And the colours and the clarity- even my computer screen looks wonderful!

How exciting Bookman - to see the world with fresh eyes! Never worry about posting TP late - remember it was probably Tuesday still on the other side of the world.
