About the book:
Somewhere between a saga and a fairy story set in the south of France, South America and the South Pacific, this is pure escapism - which is what it's all about. A colourful cast of characters explores the complexities of cross-cultural relationships. They discover the many ways in which people from vastly different places can, and do, fall in love - but this is a love story that could take you places you have never been before.
In Auckland, Tim is struggling with a mid-life crisis; but does that justify giving in to temptation?
Why is stylish Sophie's comfort being compromised by an untimely and suspicious death in France? And what makes Paulo, a young Brazilian, so proud - but so unsure of where he belongs?

About the author:David lives in Tairua on the east coast of New Zealand's Coromandel peninsula. He was born in Yorkshire, England; attended high school in Cape Town for five years and is a graduate of Auckland University. He has lived and worked in Brazil, Greece, France and Saudi Arabia as well as in New Zealand. This is his first novel.
