Nicky Pellegrino kicks off The Villa Girls tour at Takapuna Paper Plus

A crowd of dedicated Nicky Pellegrino fans gathered at Takapuna Paper Plus on Wednesday night for the first event of The Villa Girls tour.
Guests enjoyed Frangelico over ice and were given a mini bottle of the hazelnut liquor to take home. They also feasted on Italian themed nibbles before Nicky took to the stage.
She had the crowd in fits of giggles as she talked about writing her latest book. After having her previous titles frequently categorised as ‘romances’, Nicky thought it was time she actually set out to write one...

The only problem was working out what actually makes two people fall in love. She shared the story of how she met her own husband and why she moved halfway across the world to be with him on the strength of a three week holiday. It turns out a rather unattractive sounding shirt featuring pictures of cows was not a deterrent on the path to true love!

The team at Takapuna Paper Plus, led by the endlessly enthusiastic Vanessa Kerr,(left with author), hosted a fine event and fans left eager to start reading their signed copy of The Villa Girls.

Next week Nicky will be speaking at events in New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Waipukurau, Napier and Gisborne. Full details on the Author Tour section of http://www.hachette.co.nz/ .
The Villa Girls, $39.99 RRP (published by Orion) is available now.
