Julie Le Clerc’s Favourite Cakes

In a recent Colmar Brunton poll, 85% of respondents said they had baked something from scratch in the previous 12 months, and 41% of female respondents baked at least once a week.

The cakes in this book are Julie’s tried and true favourites — the ones she comes back to time and time again. Many she’s been making since childhood, others she’s made hundreds and possibly thousands of times over the years in her café or kitchen.
Alongside all the recipes Julie happily shares her own hard-won baking advice. These invaluable hints are the set of nifty tricks she has picked up from a lifetime spent creating cakes.
I have to confess to not being much of a baker but it looks to me that this might be the ultimate cake book, covering every kind of cake for every kind of occasion. A must-have for any cake baker.
About the author:

She has had an eventful culinary career that includes many years cooking in professional kitchens, running her own boutique catering business and owning and cooking for two highly successful cafés. She now lives an enviable life filled with travelling, tasting, eating and writing about food. (And Julie I love this new photo of you).
