Two New Holland titles announced as winners in national rounds 2011 Gourmand World Cookbook Awards

Julie Biuso’s Sweet Feast, a mouthwatering collection of her favourite and most popular dessert and sweet baking recipes from the past six years as contributing food editor of Taste magazine, has been selected as the Best Desserts Cookbook in New Zealand.

And Party Food for Girls by mother and daughter team Alessandra Zecchini and Arantxa Zecchini Dowling has been selected as the Best Children’s and Family Cookbook in New Zealand.

Both books will now go own to compete with other country winners in their categories for the Best in the World, winners of which will be announced at the famous Folies Bergére theatre during the Paris Cookbook Fair in March 2012.
Printer Phoenix Offset of Hong Kong, who has printed most of Julie Biuso’s cookbooks, has also been nominated in the Best Printer category for their work on Taste Sweet Feast.
Julie Biuso is no stranger to the Gourmand awards, with five previous wins for her books and a Special Jury Award for her career achievements in 2007.

The prestigious Gourmand World Cookbook Awards were founded by Edouard Cointreau in 1995 and every year they honour the best food and wine books around the globe. In 2010, over 8,000 books from 154 countries competed for the ultimate prize and the organisers were expecting even more entries this year.
