Grand Central announces new digital-only imprint

January 19, 2012 - By Joyce Lamb, USA TODAY

Grand Central Publishing is diving into the digital-only pool with a new imprint. Forever Yours launches next month (happy Valentine's Day!) and will publish two to four e-books a month. The first two in the launch are novellas, listed on Amazon at 99 cents each.
Readers can expect to see both original and classic titles (yay!). Grand Central, by the way, is the publisher for New York Times best-sellers Elizabeth Hoyt, Larissa Ione, Paula Quinn and Jill Shalvis – all personal favorites of the HEA team, in case you were wondering.

Kicking things off for the new imprint: Ember by debut author Kristen Callihan and Once Upon a Wicked Night by best-seller Jennifer Haymore. Ember, a gothic historical novella, is a prequel to Firelight, Kristen's Jan. 31 paperback release. Historical novella Once Upon a Wicked Night is part of Jennifer's popular Donovan series.

In October, Penguin announced its digital-first imprint. InterMix began re-releasing about a million Nora Robert classics just this week, including Affaire Royale, Command Performance and Dance to the Piper, at $6.99 each.
No word on how much classics and regular-length novels from Forever Yours will cost, but it looks as though the imprint is off to a good start.

P.S. for the authors out there: Forever Yours is looking for novellas (10,000 to 50,000 words) and novels (up to 100,000 words). No agent required. You can ship your submission to Generic.ForeverYours@hbgusa.com. (Say hi for me!)
