The Duchess of Cornwall says Kiwi children's classic Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy is one of her favourite books.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Booktrust, The Duchess chose the book by New Zealand author Lynley Dodd as one she pledges to share with others this year.
Booktrust was established in 1992 to promote the benefits of reading aloud to children by their parents and grandparents.
The Duchess has been a patron of the charity since June 2011, when she took over the role from The Duke of Edinburgh.

In a message on the Booktrust website The Duchess said: "As a grandmother myself, one of my favourite books for younger children is 'Hairy Maclary from Donaldson's Dairy' by Lynley Dodd.

"I read it to my grandchildren, whenever I can, as we all love the rhyming descriptions of the hilarious adventures of this naughty little terrier, and his gang of canine friends."
The rhythmical tale was written in 1983 and charts the adventures of scruffy pooch Hairy Maclary.
