Publishing Perspectves


PP's series, Publishing People We Admire, considers ex-Marvel editor-in-chief Jim Shooter, a man our writer says "is the best publishing blogger in the world."
Bold is often polarizing, while bland can be profitable -- but which offers the preferable career strategy in the changing world of publishing? 
Editor David Duhr reports back from his first day at the AWP in Chicago, where he's asked: "Would you like bacon and cheese on your kielbasa, or just cheese?" 
No starred reviews, but several well reviewed titles, including the first in a trilogy of "Viking tween" adventures and a memoir about Latin American Jews. 
The novel "Leap" was written by 29 writers, split between London, Delhi, Kuala Lumpur and Vancouver, working with more than 10 editors, and published March 1.
