Event: Alan Hollinghurst this Friday 9 March

Winner of the Man Booker Prize for his brilliant satire of Thatcher's London, The Line of Beauty, Hollinghurst will discuss his latest novel, The Stranger's Child.
The Stranger's Child casts a longer gaze, beginning with the story of two families and two houses on the eve of World War I before coursing through the 20th century to tell a larger story of England -- and of its truths secreted by time. Alan Hollinghurst will appear in conversation with Sydney Writers' Festival artistic director Chip Rolley.
Presented with thanks to Adelaide Writers' Week.

Man Book Club: The Stranger's Child

Sydney Writers’ Festival is delighted to be presenting Alan Hollinghurst on March 9 at Verbrugghen Hall, Sydney Conservatorium of Music. With this in mind, we have selected his latest novel, The Stranger’s Child, longlisted for the Man Booker Prize, as this month’s book club choice.
‘A polished and often beautiful novel, tough-minded yet elegiac, that confirms Hollinghurst's place at the beating heart of contemporary English lit.’ The Australian.

WIN tickets to Belvoir's Baby Teeth

WIN one of two double passes to Belvoir's latest mad, gorgeous, bittersweet comedy about how good it is not to be dead yet.
This play looks at the humdrum world around us and sees something radically alive. Dogs, Paganini, figs, an eight-year-old Vietnamese violin prodigy, morphine, clear skies and a Latvian immigrant are among the magnificent conflagration of ingredients that make up this funny play directed by Eamon Flack (As You Like It).

WIN one of two double passes by emailing competition@belvoir.com.au with the subject BABYTEETH and the name of one of the characters in the play.
