Ubud Writers & Readers Festival 2012

And what a stunning gathering of writers, performers, thinkers and word magicians are amassing, both Indonesian and international, to present our most eclectic event ever.

From 3-7 October, the creative hub of Bali will throng and vibrate as more than one hundred of the world's liveliest, most diverse and engaging writers converge on Ubud to celebrate all things wordy.
While we must keep you in suspense as far as actual names are concerned, we can reveal that joining Indonesia's familiar and brand new voices centre stage will be participants from Finland, Egypt, the Netherlands, the US, France, Thailand, the UK, Australia, Myanmar, Germany, Japan and South Korea, to name but a few of the dozens of countries represented.

Said Festival Founder and Director Janet de Neefe "Every year we perform miracles to top the previous Festival's list of writers. In 2012, I am confident that we have done so.
But don't wait till the names are revealed: clear your diaries now! There's nowhere else to be in October!"

You will laugh, you will be moved to tears, you will gasp in amazement and perhaps you will see the world in a new way at the Ubud Writers Festival 2012. Come and see why we are renowned as one of the top literary events on the international cultural calendar. If you have ever peeped into a book, penned a line, hummed a lyric or gazed at a film, there will be something to delight, challenge and inform you.
