ARTS SA FUNDING FOR SOUTH AUSTRALIAN BASED INDEPENDENT ARTISTS, WRITERS, PERFORMERS & ORGANISATIONS

INDEPENDENT MAKERS AND PRESENTERS PROGRAM

Professional development opportunities closing 5pm Friday 15 June, 2012
  • Individual development - independent artists seeking to support their own professional development through master classes, workshops, mentorships, attendance at conferences, attachments to arts organisations or participating in arts residencies.
  • Building pathways - assisting South Australian artists to increase their national and international profile and presentation opportunities by developing connections with influential interstate and international producers and presenters.
  • Last minute presentation - assisting independent artists and groups to respond to significant, unexpected invitations for presentation or exhibition opportunities that arise outside the normal Project grant application cycle.
15 June is also the closing date for the following opportunities offered once a year
  • Emerging artists mentorships - designed to foster a learning environment for individual emerging artists to enhance their arts practice through a one-on-one professional relationship with a significant practitioner.
  • Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi Japan travel fund - supporting independent artists, at any stage of their careers, to undertake professional development or a project in Japan. The grant is generously sponsored by the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi (Australia) Ltd, to encourage cross-cultural links between South Australia and Japan.
  • Artists in residence - supporting the hosting of outstanding local, national and international artists, in order to share their skills and knowledge with local practising professional, independent artists.
  • Fellowship - supporting an established independent artist with the advancement of their professional career and arts practice. 
  • Major Commission - supporting a significant investment in a major new work by a leading South Australian independent artist or group, to be presented in a high profile setting in South Australia.
