IBPA Introduces The Benjamin Franklin Digital Awards

The Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) is proud to announce the inaugural 2013 Benjamin Franklin Digital Awards for electronic book publishing and excellence in innovation http://www.BFDA-IBPA.org . The Benjamin Franklin Digital Awards (BFDA) will honor achievement in electronic book publishing by individuals and organizations of all sizes, including publishers, developers, designers, manufacturers, institutions, and technology leaders.
As the definition of "book" expands, the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) wishes to honor the industry's innovators with a marquee awards program. The awards are administered by the IBPA, with the help of more than 50 book publishing professionals and sponsors representing all segments of the book industry. The BFDA will serve as a natural companion and outgrowth of IBPA's Benjamin Franklin Awards for print, now in its third decade of recognizing publishing excellence.
Award entries will be accepted from June 2012 until December 31, 2012 and award winners will be announced at IBPA Publishing University in April, 2013. Award categories will include: Best Book as App, Best Enhanced E-Book, Most Creative Use of the Mobipockets/Kindle and/or ePub 2.0 (or lower) Formats, Best Adaptation of a Complex Print Design, Best E-Format "Original," Best New Product, and Best New Technology. An Honorary Digital Award for Innovation will also go to a person, product, or organization whose contribution to the field of e-book publishing has been fundamental to the advancement and acceptance of the e-book form.

IBPA's mission is to help independent publishers market their titles, to provide education on all aspects of publishing, and to act as an advocate for publishers' rights.
