AUTHOR TO RELEASE HER NEW BOOK IN SAMOA, 'WHEN WATER BURNS'

Fans of the Telesa Trilogy book series will be happy to hear that the author will be in Samoa for the local release of the second book in the trilogy - 'When Water Burns.'

Lani Wendt Young will be at Samoa Bookshop at the Lotemau Center on Tuesday 10th July from 1 to 4pm, meeting fans and signing books. Also in attendance will be special guest, Ezra Taylor who acts as the cover model for one of the characters in the series. There are limited numbers of the new book available and readers are encouraged to get to the book event early to ensure they reserve their copies. Signed book posters will also be available for $5.00 and all the proceeds from the posters will be donated to the Nelson Public Library. Lani will be gifting the library with several copies of her bestselling books as well presenting the monetary donation on Wednesday morning.
A priority for the author while she is here, will be visits to local high schools to meet with students and talk about her writing journey. A visit to Samoa College is also planned for Ezra Taylor - in keeping with the fictional character of 'Daniel' who - in the books - is Headboy of the school and also captain of the first XV.   "A key reason why I wrote these books, is because I hoped to help nurture a love for reading in our young people with fiction that they can connect with. Books that are about them and written for them. As an ex-English teacher here in Samoa, I know how difficult it can be to access Pacific fiction for our students. I always enjoy being back in the classroom and I'm looking forward to visiting schools while I'm here."
Readers can also attend a 'High Tea with the Author' at Plantation House, Alafua on Wednesday at 3pm. Bookings for that event are essential, call 22839 to reserve your seat.

just finished reading the first book in this trilogy. despite the fact I'm not into magical fantasy I enjoyed it greatly, mainly for it's Samoan insights and romance/human interest. great teens book. was tempted to buy this one straight away on Amazon but will wait!
