Author Martina Cole: My treatment is criminal
Martina Cole has sold more than 10 million copies of her crime novels in Britain alone, but she claims that she is shunned by the literary establishment.
“This country is class-conscious in everything,” declares the author of The Take. “In literature, there are classes. They won’t let me in everywhere. That’s why I was delighted and very emotional when some crime authors, on giving me a prize, told me: 'You deserve it.’ ”
