Readers around the country have raised $1,000, hoping to save the life of a bookstore cat in Brooklyn.
Earlier this week, Babbo’s Books launched an emergency campaign to raise funds for an expensive medical procedure that could save the life of the Brooklyn bookstore’s mascot. In less than two days, enough money for the procedure had been raised through the fundraising site ChipIn.
Leonora Stein posted this message: “In less than 36 hours enough people donated to pay for the entire estimate of Holly’s hospital stay. I am beyond thankful to everyone who contributed and spread the word. You really did save this cat’s life. I’m going to visit Holly in 30 short minutes with the knowledge and relief that any care she needs, she will have. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.” (Holly photo via)
