Eight of Roald Dahl’s children’s titles are available as ebooks in the U.S. for the first time today — among them, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and James and the Giant Peach. But a few favorites, like Matilda, The BFG and The Witches, still aren’t available ebooks on this side of the Atlantic (though they are sold in digital format in the UK).

Today, September 13, also happens to be Roald Dahl Day, Dahl’s birthday. He died in 1990 at the age of 74.
The ebooks are being released by Penguin’s children division, Puffin, and are $6.99 apiece in the U.S. (except for George’s Marvelous Medicine, which is $7.99).
Dahl’s books have sold over 100 million copies worldwide.
