– top authors pay tribute at Storylines/NZ Book Month event   Top authors Kate De Goldi, Tessa Duder and Leonie Agnew are combining to pay a public tribute to the genius of Margaret Mahy on Thursday 21 March.   ‘Remembering Margaret Mahy – a programme of readings from her verse and stories – is being held on the 21 March birthday of the renowned author who died in July 2012 at the age of 76.   The New Zealand Book Month event, organised by the Storylines Trust, is open to public and suitable for children 8 and up. New Zealand Book Month background New Zealand Book Month is a nationwide campaign to help establish and build a nation of dedicated readers and to bring readers and writers together. There are over 200 community groups, libraries and book groups signed up to take part in the nationwide initiative. New Zealand Book Month is a non-profit initiative promoting books and reading – and as a result, literacy – in New Zealand. One month each year we celebrate books and encourage all Kiwis to get involved. The clear goal of New Zealand Book Month is to form a community of readers from Cape Reinga to the Bluff.
