Last Thursday we celebrated the launch of Other Animals, an exciting debut poetry
collection from Therese Lloyd, a graduate of the International Institute of
Modern Letters and winner of the Schaeffer Fellowship to the prestigious Iowa
Writer’s Workshop.
The event was held at
Unity Books Wellington in conjunction with Victoria University Press, and
Bernadette Hall, renowned NZ poet and Therese Lloyd’s high school classics
teacher gave the book a warm introduction, describing Therese as someone who
“puts her finger on an alternative strength and beauty in things.”
The event
was a great success, with plenty of friends, family, and lovers of good
literature in attendance.
