Booktrack Studio Google Launch - A world's first from NZ

from Paul Cameron, CEO of Booktrack

Booktrack, the company that amplifies peoples stories by adding a movie style soundtrack while you read to provide a modern reading experience is launching our new product today in San Francisco called Booktrack Studio that allows anyone to create a movie-style Soundtrack for any text that then automatically synchronizes to the readers pace. Users can choose from over 20,000 audio files, which is a combination of music, ambiance audio, and sound effects and then self publish it on the web - all for free.

This is a worlds first, invented by software engineers in Takapuna and being taken to the world with the support of Google in the USA, and funded by notable investors such as Peter Thiel, Park Road Post Productions, Sparkbox Ventures, and Sir Stephen Tindal. Children will be able to add a soundtrack to the story they write at school, or if you are studying Shakespeare the teacher can assign students to create a soundtrack for a verse of Romero & Juliet. Serious authors and publishers can equally create new story experiences for their fans.

Music brings emotion to movies and our lives, and now we are bringing that to reading, including proven comprehension and retention gains in a New York University study and a much bigger study underway with NZ students in Auckland schools by Auckland University.

Reading is important and we want to make sure it remains relevant for the next generation too. Check out the latest Booktrack promo video here, and my TEDx talk here
