Courses at the Creative Hub on Auckland's waterfront

Introduction to Creative Writing, Tues 22 October, 6-8pm, weekly for 8 weeks

Have a go! This course is intended to introduce you to some of the basic skills and techniques that can make writing so enjoyable. You might already keep a journal, or have written some poetry or short stories, but would like to find out about some of the tools professional writers use to make their work publishable. If so, this course is for you.
Taught by Creative Hub director, John Cranna.

STARTING OCTOBER! 30 Week Fiction Course, starts Thurs 3 Oct, 6-9pm, 2 x 12-week semesters

Now in its fourth year, the course is designed to assist writers who want to develop the first draft of a novel, collection of short stories, or autobiography. This course is almost always full, so book soon! We offer a creative, collegial environment in which to develop and hone your writing. In workshops and tutorials you will be encouraged to develop your distinctive writing voice, extend your characters and explore story structure. Weekly two-three-hour sessions are chaired by author and facilitator John Cranna.

Students are assigned a personal mentor who is an established NZ fiction author, and a number of leading NZ writers, including Sarah Laing, Tessa Duder, and Roger Hall conduct craft workshops on the course
