POLICE - another cracker from Jo Nesbo

Jo Nesbo's books are big,(this one runs to 518 pages), brutal and breathtaking.
In Police the victims are carefully chosen. The locations former crime scenes. The killings no accident. The target: police.

After recovering from a near fatal shooting in the previous book, Phantom, Harry Hole has finally retired from active duty. He hears about the case but keeps his distance, determined to protect those he loves from the danger that he can never seem to escape.

But as the media pressure intensifies, Harry finds himself advising an unofficial task force investigating the murders. Drawn into a dangerous web of cold cases and precarious allegiances, Harry can't guarantee protection for anyone. Least of all himself.

Another superb, complex, at times terrifying, and frequently violent story from Jo Nesbo. I have read all ten Harry Hole novels and greatly enjoyed everyone of them but be warned this is not reading for the squeamish. And don't read it if you are home alone at night!

Harvill Secker (Random House) - $37.99
