Random House announced a May 6, 2014
publication date for Ruth
Reichl's first novel DELICIOUS -- which the publisher acquired
(and announced) three years ago, a NYT story notwithstanding.
In that original
September 2010 announcement, Reichl was also made an editor-at-large for Random
House, but spokesperson Theresa Zoro concedes that she has been busy writing
ever since and has not acquired any books for the company. Reichl is still
under contract for the other two books announced in 2010 (a cookbook, and a
memoir about her days at Conde Nast), and has now signed for two more novels.
Separately, Random also announced a December 31 publication date for their
first book from David Zinczenko, EAT IT TO BEAT IT!
