Shelter from the Storm: The Story of New Zealand’s Backcountry Huts - a winner

Shelter from the Storm: The Story of New Zealand’s Backcountry Huts
by Shaun Barnett, Rob Brown and Geoff Spearpoint  won this year’s New Zealand Booksellers’ Choice Award.

Selected by New Zealand bookstores the Nielsen Booksellers' Choice Award recognises a new release that booksellers have most enjoyed reading, marketing and hand selling during the previous year. In total 41 stores took part, voting either for the shortlist or the winner, or both. They came from 27 different cities, with 18 'chain' stores and 23 Independents represented.

Each bookseller/store who voted was entered into a free prize draw to win a year’s free subscription to Nielsen BookData Online and the winner was Take Note Paeroa. Congratulations!

The award, which is also held in Australia and South Africa, is a special award, because it is decided by the people who care enough to personally recommend and put a book in the hands of the reading public. For more information about this year's award: New Zealand Booksellers' Choice Award

The award was announced as part of the New Zealand Post Book Awards. For more information: New Zealand Post Book Awards Press Release
