Little, Brown creates new editorial division

19.08.14 | Sarah Shaffi - The Bookseller

Little, Brown Book Group has created a new editorial division encompassing the Piatkus, Constable and Robinson imprints.

Tim Whiting, currently non-fiction publisher for Piatkus and Abacus, has been promoted to publisher of the new Piatkus Constable Robinson division, which has been created to “take advantage of publishing synergies, streamline day-to-day editorial processes, and help fully integrate Constable & Robinson within the company”, said Little, Brown.

Krystyna Green has been promoted to publishing director, Constable Crime, and will report to Whiting. Whiting, who will report to Little, Brown publisher David Shelley, will continue separately to acquire major non-fiction for the Abacus list. However former C&R imprint Corsair, with publisher James Gurbutt, will continue as a separate imprint, with Gurbutt reporting to Shelley.

Shelley said: “Tim has led the Piatkus team to extraordinary levels of success over the past five years and will work closely with all three imprints in his new division to help achieve the same levels of publishing excellence. And Krystyna's promotion recognises her considerable achievement working on the Constable crime list over many years."

Constable & Robinson was bought by Little, Brown earlier this year. A number of its imprints, including C&R Crime and Brief Histories, were folded into either the Constable or the Robinson imprint soon after the acquisition.
