Ubud Writers & Readers Festival 2014

Dear all,
After an incredible Gala Opening at the stunning Ubud Royal Palace last night, our Main Program kicked off today, with a keynote address by Bustar Maitar who heads up Greenpeace Indonesia, followed by fascinating discussions on this country's past, present and future.

There's plenty more to come, including tomorrow an in-conversation with travel great Colin Thubron, a discussion of #activism and a foray into human rights with Mukesh Kapila. Purchase your 4 DAY or 1 DAY PASSES for upcoming days here or in person at our Box Office in Taman Baca (map here). You will need to pick up your lanyard to gain entry at the Main Program sessions, also from our Box Office.

Tonight we have some highlights you won't want to miss, including Made & Remade in Japan at Ryoshi Restaurant at 8:00pm; Devdutt's Hindu Trinity at the Yoga Barn at 7:30pm followed by a musical tribute to Gandhi, and as mentioned yesterday Reinhard Kleist's electrifying live comic concert at Alila at 6pm, and the ever-popular People of Letters at Indus. Plus down in Canggu our sea salt-sprayed collaboration with Deus ex Machina featuring a screening of surf classic Morning of the Earth plus chats with Rusty Miller.

And tomorrow there's plenty to look forward to; more information on the standouts below.

Don't forget, follow (and add to!) the action on @ubudwritersfest or #uwrf14
