Bookseller Vacancy - The Children's Bookshop, Wellington.

The Children's Bookshop Wellington is looking for a bookseller to join us at a senior level.
The position will be permanent 38/40 hours per week on 5 days (rostered between Monday and Saturday) and will require you to work during school holidays.
The successful applicant will firstly be able to demonstrate a passion for and knowledge of children’s literature across the genre.

The duties are wide and varied, and you will be required to take a full role in all aspects of bookselling alongside the working owners and two other experienced, motivated and self-managing full-time booksellers.There will be a supervisory role running the store at the times the owners are not present so some previous managerial experience would be an advantage.

Strong communication skills are important and experience in creating newsletters, blogs, and managing social media etc would be welcomed. Computer skills are essential.

Previous retail or bookselling experience would be helpful but more essential is adaptability, approachability, a sense of humour and calmness under pressure. We are just as interested in your back story and the various skills and experiences you have that may transfer into the position, develop your role and enhance our business.
