Readers' Salon on Wed 3 June at Vic Books

Join two brilliant writers, Anna Smaill and Bridget van der Zijpp, for a glass of wine and stimulating conversation about books, music and writing on Wednesday 3 June, 6pm–7.30pm.

The Readers' Salon is hosted in the relaxed and intimate space of Vic Books after hours. Tickets are limited to allow readers the chance to talk with the authors, something we rarely get a chance to do at large festivals.

Wellington writer Anna Smaill’s highly inventive debut novel, The Chimes, has been published in NZ and in the UK. It is set in a reimagined London where music has replaced the written word and memories are carried in physical objects. Auckland writer Bridget van der Zijpp’s second novel, In the Neighbourhood of Fame, is set in present-day New Zealand and examines the vagaries of fame in the life of fictional local rock legend, Jed Jordan.

Tickets cost $15 and include a glass of wine, delicious antipasto platters from the Vic Books kitchen, plus 10% off both featured books on the night. Conversation will be moderated by writer Kirsten McDougall.

Tickets can be purchased from Victoria University Press online bookstore here.
