Digital sales actually increased 3 percent compared to the prior year -- "driven principally by audio books" -- and comprised 16 percent of consumer sales. Acquisitions added $7 million during the quarter; foreign exchange cost them $13 million. With Harper taking full ownership of their Brazilian line at the beginning of 2017, Thomson emphasized that "what we're very confident about is the broader strategy Brian Murray and the team have developed for the internationalization of HarperCollins."
