  • Final call for the RSL Literature Matters Awards - deadline Monday 4 December 2017. The Awards are grants for excellent writing or literary projects, especially those reaching outside the usual scope of literature, or generating discussion about the value of literature. Around £20,000 is available in total, with entries to be judged by Fellows of the RSL. All forms of writing accepted including, but not limited to prose, poetry, graphic fiction and playwriting.
     
  • The Literature Matters Supporters’ Circle offers smaller events and special access for literature lovers who provide the programme with crucial financial support.
     
  • Our annual Careers in Literature event for English students from King's College London and Goldsmiths, and RSL Young Members will be on Thursday 16 November in Kings College. Speakers include Candice Carty-Williams, (Penguin Random House), Emma Hayley (SelfMadeHero), Sarah Shaffi (The Bookseller, co-founder of BAME in Publishing), and Susannah Stevenson (British Library).
